Meet the Woman Behind the Ministry

Yvette has always been involved in some form of the arts. At a young age, she began acting and dancing in school plays. Her parents enrolled her in various local community dance schools where she studied ballet, tap, modern and jazz dancing. In addition, she also sang in her church choir. In 1979 she joined the Uri African Dance Ensemble at that time located in Hempstead N.Y. under the directors of Steven and Deidre Lloyd, where she has performed locally and throughout the Metropolitan area.   After the tragedy of 911, God called her into ministry in October, 2001. It was then that God revealed to her what would become her legacy and a beloved ministry amongst her church community: His Love My Banner Ministry. Her assignment is to draw people to, share and spread the love of God through the teaching, creation and use of banners, flags (worship tools), mime and liturgical dance. Jesus said, "If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me," (John 12:32). Her liturgical dance group, Jesus Christ Youth Connection, was birthed in 2001, which ministered throughout the metropolitan area. This anointed group later went on to become 2002 and 2003 Gospelfest finalists. In 2005, Yvette also attended Sword of the Spirit International Theological Bible Institute where she received a ministerial certificate in deliverance training after two years of study.

Today, God uses her to help birth the banner ministry in many churches including Tabernacle of Joy of Baldwin, N.Y., Zion Cathedral of Freeport, N.Y., New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Queens, N.Y., Grace Cathedral of Uniondale, N.Y., Mt Calvary Baptist Church of Inwood, N.Y., Kingdom Ambassadors Global Ministries of Lynbrook, N.Y., St. Albans Baptist Church of St. Albans, N.Y., just to name a few. She served as a youth minister where she received numerous certificates from Healing, hurting women ministries of freeport N.Y. She also ministers in dance and mime and conducts teaching seminars and workshops throughout the Metropolitan area.

Currently she is a member of Perfecting Faith Church of Freeport N.Y. Where she serves in the fine arts department. Yvette is a devoted wife of thirty-four years and is a proud mother of two daughters, one stepson, one stepdaughter, eight lovely grand kids and 3 great-grand kids.
